The database is the most important part of uplook software. It stores all settings for network, user and software configuration. All data sent from monitor software is also stored in the database.

Using build-in functions you can perform the following operations for a database:

• Creating a new database
• Selecting a default database
• Compacting
• Copying
• Viewing database parameters

The Default database engine in uplook is Microsoft Jet (Access).

However, in the extended version of uplook you can use also Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE). In the table below parameters of several database engines have been compared.
