Compacting a database

All data used by uplook including information collected from Agents is saved in a database. If there are many Agents working for a long time, the database becomes larger and larger. Potential deletion of redundant data does not result in decreasing the size of a database. In such a case the so called compacting is needed, which means data reorganisation guaranteeing the optimal use and maximum economy of database capacity.

To perform database compacting, select Tools Database Compact... from the main menu. As this operation is a time-consuming process, an alert box will be displayed on the screen. When you click OK, compacting will start.

A currently opened database can be opened or closed, only when the compacting operation has been completed. Other commands cannot be executed as well. Compacting activity is indicated by information displayed on the screen.
