Remote hard disk scanning
Scanning a hard disk is the first stage of software audit.
As remote scanning involves sending a relevant command from uplook to Agent, a prior
Agent setup is required on the computer being audited. If
a computer is not connected to the network or Agent cannot be installed,
an external file scanner has to be used.
Scanning can be initiated in several ways:
- To
perform audit for all computers in the network, highlight this network on
the list on Network
tab. Then, from the context menu or from the Network menu select Software
Audit. You can also press

perform audit for all computers in the group, highlight it on the network list on
the Network
tab. Then from the context menu or Network
menu select Software Audit.

perform audit for a single computer, highlight it on the network list on
the Network
tab. Then from the context menu or Network
menu select Software Audit.

- Audit
for a single computer can be performed from the Audit tab on the
information panel.
- Audit
for a single hard disk or folder can be performed from the Files tab on the information panel.
