To use an external file scanner you should prepare a drive, on which
relevant files will be copied. Scanning results will be also saved there. A
drive can be a diskette or for example a Pen-Drive. Any other network drive
which is available for all audited computers can be also used.
If
you want to copy scanner files on a selected drive you should select Applications
Copy
Files for Audit..., click on the toolbar or click the key combination
of Ctrl + K. A dialogue box for preparing audit files will be displayed
on the screen.
Enter an access path into Select a folder to which the files should
be copied… You can also use the button to display a
typical dialogue box for selecting a folder. While copying files onto a
floppy disc or a Pen-Drive, you may only specify a drive e.g. A:\.
Then choose the platform - operating system - where you intend
to use the scaner. Use the dropdown list Platform to make your choice. Available options are:
- Microsoft Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003,
for systems Windows 95, Windows 95 OSR 2, Windows 98, Windows 98
SE, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003.

you can define additional fields,
which will enable to extend information which is retrieved in the course of
audit. To do so, click the User-
defined Fields…
If audit is to include files other than only executable, you can define their masks using a dialogue box which is
accessed by clicking Types of Audited
Files…
After clicking Copy all
files required to run the scanner will be copied into a selected folder.
