Single report
To prepare report for audit of single computer (user), first open a selected user
(computer) on the network list of the Network tab. Then, in the information panel switch to the Audit tab.
When opened, the Audit tab
includes results of the most recent software audits. Using a drop-down list
with audit dates, you can view previous audits. The other drop-down list
includes the following types of presented results:
- Identified
applications,
- Identified
applications – omitted,
- Unidentified
applications,
- Unidentified
applications - omitted,
- Applications
found in the registry,
- Operating
systems.
If any additional types of audited files have been defined, their names will be attached to the above
list.

If
you highlight a producer, the application list is scrolled in such a way that
a first program of the selected producer is displayed. Using the checkboxes
in the Producer column you can
disable or enable the display of a producer’s applications. This option has
an impact only on the application list and does not apply to printing. The Print column includes the checkboxes
which can be used to disable or enable printing for all applications for a
producer. If the Print field is
checked, an audit report for single computer will include all programs of a
selected producer. Analogically, if printing is disabled , no application of a
selected producer will be displayed in the report. The enable and disable
printing option applies exclusively to a selected computer and does not
influence reports from other computers. To change the status of printing for
several producers, you should highlight them on the list, right click the
mouse and from the context menu select To expand the application list, you may hide the producers’
lists. To do so, click from a tool bar on the Audit tab.
The Producer column on the
application list includes a producer’s name. A program’s full name is
displayed in the Application tab.
If a program is a part of a package, using an installation program which is
complainant with Microsoft Installer, the package name is shown in the Package column. The name of an
executable file is displayed in the Executable
File whereas a complete access path in the Path column. The Print column includes checkboxes, which can be
used to disable and enable printing for selected programs. The enable and
disable printing option applies exclusively to a selected computer and does
not influence reports from other computers. To change the status of printing
for several applications, you should highlight them on the list, right click
the mouse and from the context menu select Include in Printout or Exclude from Printout.

| Applications
found in the registry
The Applications column includes a
name of a program. An application version is displayed in the Version column. If ID has been
specified for a product, it is shown in the Product ID column. In the Publisher
column you can see the name of a producer and in Date – the date of software installation. The Print column includes checkboxes, which can be used to disable and enable
printing for selected programs The enable and disable printing option applies
exclusively to a selected computer and does not influence reports from other
computers. To change the status of printing for several applications, you
should highlight them on the list, right click the mouse and from the context
menu select Include in Printout or Exclude from Printout If printing was disabled
for one or more applications, the checkbox will be modified accordingly.

| Operating system
In
the General category general
information such as: full name, version number, compilation, product ID,
interface language, system language and user’s language is presented.
The Computer category includes information on a computer name, a user who was logged during
audit, number of processors and the range of addresses in memory.
In the Folders category
access paths to the most important system folders are displayed. |
| Files of other types
The File column includes a file
name. In the Type column a file is
displayed. In the following columns general file information is given, which
is a file’s size, the dates when a file was created, accessed and modified
last time. In the Path column a
file location is specified. The Print column includes checkboxes, which can be
used to disable and enable printing for selected files. To change the
printing status for several programs, highlight them on the list, right click
the mouse and from the context menu select Include in Printout or Exclude from Printout Using
the context menu you can also retrieve, open, open remotely or delete selected
files. |
Additional fields and audit description
If
additional audit fields have been defined, you
can edit them on the list, which is displayed above the application list. In
the same place you may also enter a description text for an audit.
If any additional fields have not been defined or the application list
has to be extended as much as possible, the field list can be hidden by
clicking on the toolbar. .
Printing
To
print a report, select from the main menu File
Print..., click the button on the toolbar or press the key
combination of Ctrl+ P. The printout
includes the currently selected type of results, which means identified
applications, identified applications – omitted, unidentified applications,
unidentified applications – omitted or applications found in the registry.
Information on a user and operating system is also attached to each report. You
can also preview the print by selecting File
Print Preview…
The printout will include only these applications which have been
selected in the Print column. Otherwise, programs are not included. If printing
has been disabled on the producers list, applications of the selected producer
will not be included as well.
Saving
as Microsoft Excel workbook
It is possible to save a report as a Microsoft Excel workbook, only if
Excel has been installed. To save the report, from the main menu select File
Save
as..., click on the toolbar or the key combination of Ctrl + A. A typical dialogue box for
selecting a file to save will be displayed on the screen. When you select a
location and file name, click the Save button.
Differently then in the printouts, a file created this way includes all types of results,
which means identified applications, identified applications – omitted,
unidentified applications, unidentified applications – omitted or applications
found in the registry. Information on a user and operating system is also
attached to each report and a list including files of a type different from
executable (provided a user has defined relevant
masks).
