Information panel - weblook

The weblook tab on the information panel enables to browse addresses of Web pages which have been visited by a user. This information is fetched constantly from Agents installed on users’ computers and transferred to uplook. Choosing relevant buttons on the toolbar, you can view the following overviews:

  • - complete history of visited Web pages in a tabular layout. Opening time, activity time, a Web page title and address are displayed.

  • - a summary of visited Web pages. Total time, a Web page title and address are displayed. Sorting the data by time, you can obtain information on the most frequently visited Web page.

  • - history of visited Web pages represented by an address tree. At each level total time of visiting other pages, which are displayed at lower levels, is given.

It is possible to create summaries for a day, month or year or for any time range. As many users can work on (log in) the same computer, you can specify users.

You can choose the range of analysis from the calendar on the left. The calendar has a tree structure, representing a year, month and day on the subsequent levels. In the calendar only these days for which statistical data has been collected are displayed. By highlighting a day, month or year, you can view statistics for a selected period.

The other possibility to choose the range of analysis is to specify a starting date in the From field and an ending date in the To field in frame Range of analyzis. A selected time range will be adjusted according to the existing data. It means that only these days for which data on visited Web pages has been collected will be displayed.

The drop-down User list shows all users of a monitored computer. If you change your selection, statistics are automatically prepared for a selected user. You can also carry out a summary analysis for all computer users by selecting the (All) option.

If there are many computers which are monitored for a long time, more and more space in a database is required to store information on visited Web pages. Therefore, it is recommended to remove the oldest overviews periodically. To delete history of visited Web pages for a current (opened) user for a selected day, select this day in the calendar and select weblook Delete... from the main menu or click on the toolbar. You can delete the whole history of opened Web pages for a current user by selecting weblook Delete All from the main menu or clicking on the toolbar.

You can open the selected webpage by choosing option weblook Open or by clicking on the toolbar button .

You can also open the selected webpage remotely on the computer you are monitoring (if connection with Agent is established). To do so choose from the main menu option weblook Open remotely... or click on the toolbar.

Printing

To print history of visited Web pages, select File Print... from the main menu, or click on the toolbar or press the key combination of Ctrl + P. The printout includes a currently selected type of overview. You cannot print history as an address tree. Information on a user and operating system is also attached to each printout. You can display a print preview by selecting File Print Preview...

Saving as Microsoft Excel workbook

Saving as Microsoft Excel workbook is possible only, when Excel has been installed. To save history of visited Web pages, select File Save as from the main menu or click on the toolbar or press the key combination of Ctrl + A. A typical dialogue box for selecting a file to save will be displayed on a screen. When you select a file location and name, click the Save button.
